Our Mission

The Lyndonville Central School District’s mission is to prepare all students for college and career readiness and success in a global society. We will work with the community as partners to provide our students with the values, attitudes, knowledge, skills, and encouragement necessary to enable them to successfully meet life’s challenges.

Welcome to Lyndonville Central Schools.  Lyndonville students are served by teams of teachers and support staff in an environment of high expectations and responsive individual support.  Our primary pre K-3 team ensures that every child receives support to read on grade level by the end of grade 3.  Lyndonville performance benchmarks are set to ensure that grade level secure skills in Math and ELA are met by March of each year.  Similar high expectations have been established in our intermediate grades 4-6 program where students are served by teams of teachers for more than one year to ensure continuity of curriculum and support.

Our middle years learners, in grades 7-8, are served by an interdisciplinary teaching team, with a full-time literacy coach and math instructional support teacher, to ensure strong reading and writing support in all content areas and to prepare all students to begin Algebra in grade 8.  Students, including those in co-teaching classrooms, are provided an extended math program that includes preparation for grade 9 Algebra.  Every 8th grade student is provided the support and opportunity to achieve 9th grade credit in Math, Spanish, and Earth Science with approximately 90% or more achieving at least one high school credit on an annual basis.

Ninth graders are served by a team of teachers to provide students the coaching and support necessary to earn 5.5 credits by the end of 9th grade.  Credit Recovery ensures that failure is not an option.  An advisement period and our Academic Support Tutoring Center are provided for every student.  In addition, a strong reading program for 9th graders ensures that every student is well prepared to meet secondary requirements.

Our 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students have full access to accelerated courses, Genesee Community College dual enrollment classes supported by consultant teachers, and seven Advanced Placement courses.  Every high school senior completes either the AP or Genesee Community College final exam to ensure that Lyndonville students are work and college ready.  Our online learning center provides juniors and seniors with full access to additional Advanced Placement and over 100 elective courses providing our rural students with all the opportunities that much larger school districts offer.

Lyndonville School District teachers and students have achieved significant results as evidenced by a number of school performance measures.  We require students to become involved in athletics, performing arts, clubs, activities, and service learning to extend our classroom walls to the community and beyond.  Our website is designed to provide full access to our goals, strategic plans, and results.  Please contact us if there is something of interest to you that you do not see.  We are constantly seeking ways to improve our communication and our community schools.
