Pre-K Program

LCSD Accepts Applications for Newly Expanded Pre-kindergarten Program

The Lyndonville Central School District is now accepting applications for its newly expanded pre-kindergarten program. The full-day, developmentally appropriate program is open for children of the district who were 3 or 4 years of age by December 1, 2019.

The grant from the New York State Department of Education allows the district to expand the hours of its current program for 4-year-olds and initiate a new program for 3-year-olds. The five-day-a-week program will engage students in planned educational activities, quiet play and rest time. Breakfast and lunch will also be provided.

The district will work with families whose children are currently enrolled in Lyndonville's UPK program and would like to transition into the full-day expanded program. This opportunity is also open to students who are not enrolled in Pre-K.

Lyndonville CSD is partnering with the Orleans County YMCA to assist the expanded Pre-K program with instruction and staffing on the school’s campus. The program will be based in the former elementary school located on Main Street. Funding from the NYS grant will be used to help offset the cost to utilize this space.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for both our children and our district,” said Superintendent Jason Smith. “It provides a much needed service to our community and aligns with our core belief of continuous improvement.”

Dr. Elissa Smith, Lyndonville Pre-K – 6th Principal, will be hosting an information session on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at 6:00 PM at the Middle-High School Library for district residents interested in learning more about the program. Please contact the school at 585-765-3122 for additional information on the Pre-K program.
