Update, March 18, 2020

March 18, 2020

Dear LCS Families and Community,

Wow!  A lot has happened in the last 48 hours, and I have some new information ready to share with you.  Most important, school is closed until further notice.

1)  MEAL SERVICE -  Through this week, meal service will continue from 8 am - 12:00 pm. Beginning next week, meal service hours will be from 9:00-11:00 am.

2)  OFFICE HOURS -  The building will maintain regular office hours through this week until Friday at noon.  Staff will be here from 7:30-3:30 March 18 and March 19, and from 7:30 - 12:00 pm on March 20.  The building will close Friday afternoon at 12:00 pm.

Beginning next week, office hours will be from 8:30-11:00 am until further notice.

Office staff may be reached via phone at 765-3162 or via a special e-mail address parentclosurequestions@lcsdk12.org for individual questions.

3)  INSTRUCTION - We are all concerned about "continuity of instruction" during this time, and yesterday, teachers and staff spent time preparing materials.  Here are your options:

Visit this link on a regular basis for updates:

https://www.lyndonvillecsd.org/resources-for-families-during-closure

We will also post Regent videos here:

http://www.lyndonvillecsd.org/o/lcsd/browse/111483

If you need paper packets, THEY ARE AVAILABLE.  Call the school at 765-3162 to make arrangements to pick up materials.

Families of students in grades 3-6 without a device may call to get an appointment to pick up a Chromebook.

Thank you for continuing your learning!

4)  INTERNET ACCESS -  Feel free to visit the grounds of our campus 24/7 to access free internet services.  The network is GUEST and the password is WIRELESS.  Please either stay in your vehicle or maintain social distancing of 6 feet or more.

5)  THUMB DRIVES -  For high school students without Internet access, thumb drives will be made available next week with Regents course review materials.  More information will be shared next week.

I am so proud of our school community and staff coming together in these uncertain times.  My number one concern is the safety and education of our students, and I trust that all the measures we have put in place are consistent with that goal.

Finally, I may be reached at Jasmith@lcsdk12.org at any time.

Sincerely,

Jason A. Smith

Superintendent
