SCHOOLS BUILDINGS TO REMAIN CLOSED
REMAINDER OF THE ACADEMIC YEAR

At today’s daily press conference, Governor Cuomo announced that the 2.59 million students in our public schools will remain at home for the remainder of the academic year.  A decision on whether to hold summer school will be made by the end of the month; purportedly in time for parents and districts to make appropriate arrangements, but taking into account events transpiring within the next three weeks.

School districts will continue to provide distance learning until the end of the year.  They will also be required to continue providing meals to children and childcare to healthcare workers.

School districts are being directed to create reopening plans that take into account extracurricular activities, student safety, transportation and instruction that follow protocols already put in place by the state.

Finally, school districts will be directed to monitor the spread of the virus within their schools.

FURTHER INFORMATION WILL BE RELAYED AS SOON AS IT IS MADE AVAILABLE.

Information regarding our local plans here at Lyndonville will shared as they are developed and completed.

On behalf of our faculty and staff, we miss our students and families and look forward to being together when we it is safe and we are allowed

Jason Smith, Superintendent
