This spring, Boston-based artist, Bren Bataclan, worked with Lyndonville students and staff to create a mural of kindness on the wall in the hallway near the elementary library on the main campus. This mural was so well-received, that a second colorful mural was created at the elementary school, Main Street campus.

Bataclan is known for incorporating students’ ideas and characters into the compositions. Bren once again engaged our students in the creation of the new mural. He held interactive assemblies where he drew for and with students and gathered ideas for the new mural of kindness they created together. On September 30, our second and third grade students who helped to create the mural participated in an unveiling and ribbon cutting ceremony.

“Our incredible murals are here as a reminder of Bren’s wonderful work of spreading kindness,” said Katie Strusienski, Literacy Specialist. “His message is powerful, and I believe everyone should hear it.”

If you have not yet viewed the bright murals, we encourage you to do so! The unique characters, vivid colors and joyful message will make you smile.
