Students playing Wiffle Ball

Lyndonville elementary students are having a ball in a fall after-school offering: Wiffle ball!

Club Advisor Tim Murphy conceptualized Wiffle Ball Club upon reflection of his own childhood experiences.

"I picked wiffle ball because I love to play baseball and I remember growing up and loving getting to play wiffle ball with my friends after school," Murphy said.

Murphy hopes that during Wiffle Ball Club, students will learn about how to show good sportsmanship, how to encourage each other when someone gets down, and how to be a good team player.

"Students really enjoy getting to play a sport they have never played before. Students also enjoy getting to play with friends they don't normally get to play with after school as well," Murphy said. "I think students also really enjoy that they get to play with a game with their teacher after school. I once had a teacher who use to come play pick up games with a few friends of mine, and it was something I will always remember."
