Each school and/or district reopening plan must provide all students enrolled in the SFA with access to school meals each school day. This must include students in attendance at school and students learning remotely.
The District, in partnership with Personal Touch Food Service, will provide access to school meals each school day to those students in attendance and students learning remotely. Parents of and/or students learning remotely may pick up breakfast and lunch daily. The District will utilize the national waiver for non-congregate meal service, meal service time and parent / guardian meal pick up for those students learning remotely.
Each school and/or district reopening plan must address all applicable health and safety guidelines.
The District does have a comprehensive health and safety guideline section of this reopening plan. Included in the health and safety section of the reopening plan are written communication plans, written protocol for signs of illness (students and staff), written protocol for daily screening questions and temperature checks (students and staff) (including positive responses), written protocol for visitors, guests and vendors, written protocol for correct hand and respiratory hygiene, written protocol for social distancing, written protocol for face coverings, written protocol for confirmed case(s) of COVID-19, written protocol cleaning and disinfecting schools.
Each school and/or district reopening plan include measures to protect students with food allergies if providing meals in spaces outside the cafeteria.
The District, in partnership with Personal Touch Food Service, will continue to maintain procedures to ensure staff are knowledgeable about student food allergies and procedures involving food handling and consumption, regardless of place of meal taking. This will be done in collaboration with the school nurse.
Each school and/or district reopening plan must include protocols and procedures for how students will perform hand hygiene before and after eating, how appropriate hand hygiene will be promoted, and how sharing of food and beverages will be discouraged.
Classroom teachers will facilitate teaching and sharing hand hygiene protocol for before and after eating. Hand sanitizer will be available in all classrooms and in multiple spaces at the entrance and exits of the cafeteria. All bathrooms (in classrooms and in hallways) will have signage and access to hygiene equipment. We do not allow sharing of food or drinks at school.
