Nomination Guidelines

To highlight those who have made a positive impact on the Lyndonville Athletic program and maintain relationships, history, and tradition within the school community.

The committee should consist of a minimum of 8 members, 7 voting members and a facilitator. The Athletic Director should serve as the facilitator of the committee. Members must have a strong background and knowledge of Lyndonville Athletics. Voting members must abstain from voting for him/herself or any family member. Members should include current and former coaches, sports boosters, the Athletic Director and community members.

There are four categories in which someone may be inducted into the Hall of Fame; Athlete, Team, Coach, and Special Contributor/Supporter/Fan. Character will be an important consideration when nominating or inducting a member.
Athlete
- Must wait at least 5 years after active participation to be nominated.
- Must have made a significant contribution to his/her team as evidenced by honors including but not limited to; All-league, All-County, All-State, individual records within the team (leading scorer, assists, etc.), local/national media honors (All Greater Rochester, etc.)
- Special consideration may be made for multi-sport athletes with significant contributions.
Team
- Must have been a Varsity team.
- Must wait at least 3 years after the youngest student (grade level) on the team has participated.
- Must have distinctive achievements within their specific sport (League, Sectional, State Championship, Undefeated season, etc.)
Coach
- Must be retired or no longer coaching that specific sport after having coached it for a minimum of 5 years.
- Must have demonstrated excellence in their program as evidenced by outstanding record, league, sectional or state titles. May also be evident based on award recognition through the Genesee Region league, Section V, NYS or National.
Special Contributor/Supporter/Fan
- Must have made significant contributions or brought positive recognition to the Lyndonville Athletic program. This category may include volunteers, statisticians, notable alumni, members of Sports Boosters, fans, etc.
- This category is intended to acknowledge those who may not otherwise meet criteria to be inducted into the hall of fame but were still an integral part of the athletic community or bring about pride within the community. Criteria for induction will be left to the members of the committee.

- Nominations will be submitted to the athletic director and will be taken at any time from anyone who completes the proper form. There will be a deadline for submission each year whereas if a vote comes in after, that nominee will be placed on the ballot for the next induction year.
- The Hall of Fame committee will meet following the deadline to receive all eligible nominations for their review. A second meeting will be held within a month to vote.
- Each voting member will select 10 candidates and rank them numerically 1-10, 10 being the highest priority for induction, 1 being the lowest.
- Total points will be added once all committee members have selected their 10 candidates for induction.
- The candidate with the highest point total will be put up to a vote of the committee by secret ballot. A majority vote is required in order to be inducted.
- Nominations will be due by 3/1/2021 and inductees will be announced in May.
- The first year, up to 10 candidates will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. The second year, up to 5 candidates will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Every year after, up to 3 candidates will be inducted.
- Nominees will remain on the ballot for the following year unless he/she/they receive no votes for 3 consecutive years.
- Inductees should be announced via various media outlets including but not limited to, Orleanshub.com, School related social media, publication on the school athletic page, etc.
- Any revisions to the selection process must be decided by a unanimous vote of the entire committee.

Josh Brabon
Class of 2012- 5-year member of the Varsity Wrestling team, capturing Sectional titles each year
- 3-year member of the Lyndonville Varsity Baseball team
- Two-time Section V place finisher, taking 3rd place in 2011 and reaching the finals in 2012
- Finished his career with 157 varsity wins
- Recipient of the Ted Hettig Memorial Award (2011, '12), which is given to the Varsity Baseball player with the highest league batting average
- Named the Genesee Region League player of the year (2012)

Retired in 2003- Coach of the inaugural Lyndonville Boys Varsity Soccer program in 1976, where he remained the coach through 2002
- Named "Coach of the Year" 4 times (1979, '80, '84 and '88)
- Coached Lyndonville's first-ever team state qualifier in 1986 (Boys Soccer)
- Involved in the formation and administration of the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) Region 426 for Lyndonville, Medina and Roy-Hart from 1984-99
- Received the Section V Merit Award for soccer in 1989
- Received the Appreciation Award in 2001
- 31 of his Boys Varsity Soccer alumni went on to play at various collegiate levels
