How do I obtain my child’s teachers’ and principal’s rating?
The ratings must be requested by the parent or legal guardian. Pursuant to Education Law §3012-c(10)(b), each school district and BOCES shall fully disclose and release to the parents and legal guardians of a student the final quality rating and composite effectiveness score for each of the teachers, and for the principal of the school building, to which the student is assigned for the current school year upon the request of such parents and legal guardians. The governing body of each school district and BOCES is required to provide conspicuous notice to parents and legal guardians of the right to obtain such information.

The Lyndonville Central School District processes requests for records in accordance with the New York State Freedom of Information Law (Public Officers Law, Article 6).
The District has designated a Records Access Officer to coordinate the response to all FOIL requests.
Submission of Requests
FOIL requests must be submitted in writing and should be directed to the District’s Records Access Officer using one of the following methods:-

Use of the District’s online FOIL request form is strongly encouraged to ensure that requests clearly describe the records sought and include all necessary contact information for processing.
Requests for records sent to other District email addresses or individuals may not be received or processed in a timely manner. District employees are instructed to forward any such requests to the Records Access Officer; however, requestors are responsible for ensuring their request is properly submitted.
All requests must reasonably describe the records sought in order to be processed. The District will respond to requests in accordance with applicable law.
