As we look forward to welcoming our teachers and staff back next week and our students after Labor Day, we are entering the final week of our big summer construction push!
There is still plenty happening throughout our buildings. New windows are going in, HVAC equipment is being installed, drywall is being finished, bathrooms are taking shape, and crews are working hard to complete as much of the disruptive and “dirty” work as possible before students return.
Over the next week, many of these spaces will undergo a major transformation as walls receive their final paint, new windows become fully functional, bathrooms are completed and brought into service, and classrooms are cleaned and prepared for another school year. Work will also continue into September on our three new classrooms, with the new wing currently slated to be ready for our Kindergarten classes to move into in early October.
While the start of school is an important milestone, it is not the end of the capital project. Work will continue throughout the fall, primarily on second shift and behind closed doors, as contractors complete punch-list items such as touch-up spackling and painting, caulking, trim, final connections, adjustments, and other finishing details.
So, as we head into September, we ask everyone to pardon our dust just a little longer! This multi-year capital project is now in its home stretch, with the remaining work scheduled to be substantially completed by mid-November. We are excited to watch these final pieces come together and even more excited for our students, staff, and community to enjoy the improvements for years to come.
