At the April 21, 2026, Board of Education meeting, a revised elementary school calendar for the 2025-26 school year was approved. The revision adds a half day of instruction on June 23, which will now serve as the final day of school for Pre-K-Grade 6 students. The online calendar has been updated as well as the 2025-26 Calendar-at-a-Glance.
This adjustment was necessary to ensure compliance with the New York State minimum requirement of 180 instructional days. While the original calendar was developed to provide 183 student days, three emergency closure days, along with the anticipated day off on the Friday before Memorial Day (assuming no additional closures), would have reduced the total to 179 days. As a result, this revision was required to meet the state mandate.
This newly approved calendar is effective immediately and will replace the current version.
