Sixth graders shared their Christmas Narratives on 12/19. They worked hard brainstorming, organizing, editing, revising and applying their creativity. Each story was unique. Some students illustrated their cover pages. They celebrated their writing piece by sharing with each other and enjoying some cookies.

Alisha Duffina's sixth grade WIN class thoroughly enjoyed reading to Amy Muscato's first grade class. They have been working on fluency and intonation while reading aloud, and what better way than with fun, Christmas-themed stories. The first graders were great listeners and answered lots of questions the sixth graders came up with. One of the sixth graders stated it was so much better than she expected!

Our new staff and their mentors worked together to build Christmas trees. They were given limited time and materials before our judges determined the winners. This activity promoted collaboration, creativity and problem-solving as a team, plus LOTS of laughs. Happy holidays from the LCS mentor program!
