Meet Paula Sweet, a new Elementary Education Teacher at LCS!
Hello. My name is Paula Sweet and I’m thrilled to start the 2025-2026 school year at LCS.
I wanted to tell you a little about me. I grew up in Tonawanda, NY. I graduated from Buffalo State University and have my master's from Lesley University. Through my years of teaching, I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to teach in many different places. After graduating, I moved to Colorado and taught grades K-4 for 20 years. I then moved back to NY to teach first and third grade in Lancaster for three years. For the last four years, I had an amazing experience teaching first and second grade on Hatteras Island Outer Banks, NC. Recently, I moved back to NY with my husband to spend time with family.
When I am not teaching, I like to spend as much time as I can outdoors. I love to swim, hike, explore nature and travel, too! I also enjoy playing disc golf, and I love to eat delicious foods.
I am so excited to be a Tiger and join a school of educators that value and take pride in ensuring all students learn and succeed! One of my favorite quotes is “A teacher is the compass that activates the magnets of curiosity, knowledge and wisdom in students!” ~Ever Garrison
I believe in creating a safe, caring, respectful environment, where students see our class as a family that takes care of each other! A place where students are motivated and challenged! A room filled with independent students that are engaged and excited to learn! I can’t wait to meet my second graders and build relationships with students and parents! Together, we will make this 2025-26 school year a success!
